Partners in Parenthood
A relationship series for navigating early parenthood
Sundays January 17th, 24th, and 31st
1pm - 4pm
Blooma
Having a child changes almost every aspect of your life - from your routines, sleep, and responsibilities to your identities, family relationships, and connection with one another. While much of the preparation for parenthood focuses on caring for a baby, less attention is given to preparing for and navigating the changes that happen within the couple relationship.
Partners in Parenthood is a three-part workshop series designed to help couples strengthen their relationship through the evolving journey of parenthood.
Led by two Marriage & Family Therapists (who are a married couple with a baby!), these interactive workshops create space for honest conversations, practical tools, and meaningful connection. Together, we'll explore how to communicate through stress, navigate conflict, share the mental and physical load of family life, establish parenting values and boundaries, ask for support, and maintain emotional and physical intimacy as your family grows.
Each workshop explores a different dimension of family life:
Workshop 1: The Transition — Becoming Parents Together. Prepare for birth and the early postpartum period by exploring changing roles, expectations, communication, and how to care for yourselves and your relationship during the transition into parenthood. Designed for expecting parents.
Workshop 2: The Family — Building a Family That Works for Everyone. Explore parenting philosophies, family values, the invisible work of raising children, shared responsibilities, finances, and navigating extended family relationships and boundaries.
Workshop 3: The Relationship — Staying Connected Through Parenthood. Focus on maintaining emotional and physical intimacy, navigating conflict, supporting one another's individual needs, and finding ways to stay connected through the changing seasons of family life.
Attend the full series or choose the workshops that meet you where you are. Each workshop is designed to stand alone, so you don't need to attend the others to participate. While Workshop 1 is specifically for expecting parents, Workshops 2 and 3 are open to both expecting parents and those who are already raising children.
Whether you're preparing to welcome your first baby or looking to strengthen your partnership while navigating the demands of family life, you'll leave with practical tools, new perspectives, and a stronger foundation for parenting as a team.
Please note: These workshops are educational and in nature and are not a substitute for psychotherapy or couples counseling.
